THE REVERB’S FOURTH ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BANDS

SUMMER 2008

  1. Entries must be in by May 17th, 2008.
  2. Finalists will be announced May20th, 2008.
  3. 16 bands will be picked to compete, with 4 alternates
  4. 4 bands will play in 4 rounds of action.
    1.  Round 1-Thu, June 5
    2.  Round 2-Thu, June 12
    3.  Round 3-Thu, June 19
    4.  Round 4-Thu, June 26
    5.  Finals-Sat, Aug 2nd will be at The Reverb OR Spicoli’s.
  5. If a band cannot play the night they are scheduled, then Alternate #1 will be picked.  If Alternate #1 cannot play we will go to Alternate #2 and so on. Bands will have the option of playing the night they draw only.  If they cannot play that night, the alternate takes their place.  (Special circumstances will be considered.)
  6. An un-biased committee compiled by the Reverb will choose the 16 bands and 4 alternates.
  7. Bands that have played the Reverb before or that have previously submitted a promo pack need not send a sample of their music, however an application is necessary for ALL bands that want to be considered.
  8. The winners of each first round show will play in the finals to be held Saturday, May 10th at the Reverb or possibly at our new location Spicoli’s.
  9. The Reverb will pick one of the remaining 12 bands, as a wild card after all of the 1st four rounds is complete.  This wild card will be picked to play the finals and will be required to go 1st on the night of the finals.  The other four round winners will draw for their time slot.  The wild card will have the opportunity to cash in as all 5 bands in the finals will be paid prize money.
  10. Each show will be all ages and will cost $5-21+ & $7-Under 21 for each round including the finals.
  11. Each show will start at 10PM and each band will have a 30-minute set, with the exception of the finals, which will start at 9PM.
  12. Bands will not get paid for their first round performance.
  13. Reverb has final say on any discrepancies in rules or decisions.
  14. The prizes are the following:
    1. 1st Place-$1,000
    2. 2nd Place-$300.
    3. 3rd Place-$250.
    4. 4th Place-$150.
    5. 5th Place-$100.
  15. The winners will be chosen in the following:
    1. 50% decided on by votes from the audience
    2. 50% decided on by a panel of un-biased judges
